It was with great interest that I watched and listened to Barack Obama’s inaugural address as he was sworn into the most powerful position in the world, the President of The United States of America.
To me it was a historic moment in time which I had to watch Live (wow! the wonders of the modern age never ceases to amaze me) and though I have yet to travel to the US, and I am not a citizen, I acknowledge that changes in that distant country, in a different continent, has far reaching consequences to all and to the future as we know it.
I listened to his address and was inspired by what he said and the man who said it. This is a man who dared dream to be the President of the most powerful country in the world. A man that stuck to his dream and touched, moved and inspired millions of people with his rhetoric and actions to place him in a position that can Make A Difference to the world as we know it.
The very fact Barack Obama is now President tells me democracy is alive in the US, that what was once a country that was looked on as one to emaluate and is now even despised by some, is now full of hope and promise.

I am inspired that Democracy exists.
I am inspired by the Hope that he has brought forth in people of all walks of life, colour and social standing.
I am inspired by his Dream of a new beginning and “an end to petty grievances, false promises, recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far to long have strangled …”
I too have Hope.
